During Tallinn’s Design Night festival on 21 September 2023, residents, planners and stakeholders spent roughly three hours redesigning Niine Street, the short connector between Kalamaja and the Old Town. Three working groups generated more than 1,000 AI images and converged on a shared direction: pedestrian-friendly, separated traffic, low-maintenance wild landscaping.
Who took part
Residents, planners and other stakeholders in three working groups at a public festival workshop.
What the tool did
Rapid scenario generation structured the session and let groups compare directions at volume; the organisers’ own published assessment judged the tool more useful for developing overall ideas than for detailed design — a candid, self-reported limit.
