For Zurich’s “Für Züri” co-innovation constellation, the workshop tool was productised into a standalone, city-branded mobile web app: residents and visitors photograph their streets and reimagine them with curated prompts — greening, car-free layouts, wooden decking, urban heat-island mitigation — with geolocation restricting use to Zurich and every transformation placed on a public map. The service was designed in tiers reaching roughly 700,000 precalculated images.
Who took part
Zurich residents and visitors, self-serve on mobile, around the streets freed by the city’s planned Quartierblöcke (superblocks).
What the tool did
Guided prompt engineering targeted Zurich’s specific challenges, notably heat-island mitigation; anonymous input, safety controls and a personal gallery were specified by design.
What changed
The engagement marked the shift from facilitated events to a self-serve platform; the project site went live in December 2023.
